3. Setting up Microsite Sharing

Guide to configuring the Microsite sharing options, email embed tags, and uploading a custom social card.

Overview

Let's start setting up Microsite sharing! The Microsite Sharing step allows you to activate and configure the different sharing options. This guide offers a detailed walkthrough on all available sharing options, social sharing cards, sharing emails via Microsites, Microsite email embed tags, etc.

Required Steps

  1. Click the SHARING step at the top of the page.

  2. SHARING OPTIONS: You'll find a complete list of share options that can be Microsite. You may add or remove sharing options by toggling the circle on the left of each entry. Below is a breakdown of what to expect with each sharing option.

    • Facebook: This option allows your guests to share a microsite link to their files directly to their Facebook timeline and story.

    • Twitter: This option allows your guests to share a microsite link to their file in a Twitter post.

    • Instagram: This option sends an Instagram-friendly version of your guest's file as an email attachment. Once downloaded, your guests can upload their media using the Instagram app. Learn more about Instagram sharing below in step 5.

    • Email: This option allows guests to send files as an email attachment to themselves from the Microsite. Learn more about Instagram sharing below in step 4.

    • Download: This option allows your guests to download their files directly from your Microsite. You cannot collect data with this sharing option.

    • SMS: This option allows guests to send a text message, including their file from the Microsite. Virtual credits are required to use this sharing option. Learn more about Virtual Credits here.

  3. SOCIAL SHARING: A preview of the Microsite gallery is displayed when your guest shares the link. It will dictate how your Microsite looks when shared. You can control this preview in the Social Sharing section by filling in the Title, Page Description, Twitter Description, and Use Custom Social Image fields below.

    • Title: This will be the headline when shared with Facebook and other platforms that support rich objects.

    • Page Description: This is the description when you share the Microsite to Facebook or other platforms that support rich objects.

    • Twitter Description: This is a Twitter-only description shared when viewed on their platform.

    • Use Custom Social Image: When activated, it allows you to upload an image that shows up in the preview for your Microsite.

    • Share Buttons Position: You control the placement of the sharing option buttons. Choose from the following options.

      • Above Image: This places the sharing options above the photo place holder.

      • Below Image: This places the sharing options below the photo place holder.

      • No Sharing Button: This removes the sharing options entirely.

    • Share Button Base Color: This color picker allows you to adjust the background color of your sharing buttons.

    • Share Button Icon Color: This color picker allows you to adjust the icon's color inside your sharing buttons for the Download, Email, Facebook, etc.

  4. The "Email Sharing" section allows you to customize the information shared in the email sent to your guests.

    • Sender Name: Enter the name your guest will see as the email sender.

    • Sender Email: Enter the email address your guests can respond to if needed.

    • Subject: Enter an appropriate title that allows your guest to identify your email quickly.

    • Template: Select your email template here. You can choose from our default template options or have one custom-made using our Email Designer.

    • Email Embed Tags: This powerful feature allows you to automate the customization process of the email sent to your guests.

      For example, you can inject photos, links, or even text specific to your guests using this feature.

  5. The "Instagram Sharing" option allows you to send appropriately sized photo and video attachments to your guests via email. Your guests will need to download these attachments and upload them manually using the Instagram app. You can modify the following settings in the fields below.

    • Sender Name: Enter the name your guest will see as the email sender.

    • Sender Email: Enter the email address your guests can respond to if needed.

    • Subject: Enter an appropriate title that allows your guest to identify your email quickly.

    • Template: Select your email template here. You can choose from our default template options or have one custom-made using our Email Designer.

Things That You Need To Know

  • Unlike the other social media sharing options, Instagram restricts direct uploads from 3rd party applications. PicPic Social sends photos/videos sized specifically for Instagram through email as an alternative. This solution offers an easy upload process for your guests.

  • You may use this base template; feel free to edit the default hashtag to your hashtag.

    SHARE THE ATTACHED DIGITAL MEDIA TO INSTAGRAM USING #picpicsocial

    • Save the attached digital media to your phone.

    • Load Instagram and select the saved digital media.

    • Share using #picpicsocial
