Disclaimer
It is not recommended you use multiple photo booths to a single Sharing Stations.
Here are the reasons why we do not recommend it:
The Sharing Station will be harder to use:
If there is high usage at both booths, a single Sharing Station will become flooded with files quickly. Also, the photos may not be in the correct order. PicPic Social arranges files by name. If the files are jumbled, the guests will find it hard to find their photos
Files may overwrite each other:
If files are named similarly, the files will overwrite each other when uploaded to the dashboard. There is no way to undo this from the dashboard if this is done.
Data Capture may become unreliable:
The data capture in your dashboard maybe unreliable if the file names are the same from both booths. This is because the files will overwrite each other.
What should you do instead?
If you are using multiple photo booths, you should have a dedicated Sharing Station for each photo booth. If you MUST use a single Sharing Station, follow the steps below.
How to setup multiple photos booths to a single Sharing Station
Steps Needed
Ensure your photo booth software is using a unique naming convention
Setup Dropbox on each photo booth computer
Setup PicPic Social as usual
1. Ensure your photo booth software is using a unique naming convention
Each photo booth software works different. Check the file naming settings for each booth. If you can, give each booth a unique prefix. I.e., booth1_, booth2, etc. This will ensure the files do not overwrite each other in Dropbox or on the dashboard.
2. Setup Dropbox on each photo booth computer
On each photo booth computer, setup Dropbox and have have all your photo booth computers save to the same folder.
3. Setup PicPic Social as usual
The Device Server can only be run on one computer at a time. Select which computer you want to run the Device Server, and select the Dropbox folder you will be using as the Watch Folder.
Run PicPic Social as normal.
