Creating Your Event

Welcome to the PicPic Social Dashboard. From the Events tab click the +New Event button to set up your first Sharing Station event like in the clip below...

Editing Your Event Settings

[STEP #1] GENERAL

The only two fields that are mandatory in the General Settings are your event Date and the event Name.

BASIC SETTINGS

  • Name: Please enter the name of the event that you are creating. This will only be visible to you.

  • Date: The date of your event. This is very important because once your event is published, it cannot be changed.

  • Users With Access: This is where you can select sub users that can view the event and select it in the device server.

ONLINE STORAGE & WEB GALLERY

  • Upload All Photos To Event Cloud gallery: If you need for your files to be uploaded and visible in a Microsite gallery or your post event imgpickup.com gallery, this must be enabled. If you are doing an event that is sharing video files over 8mb this must be enabled as well.

  • Gallery Password: This is where you would enter a password to password protect the gallery to this specific event on your imgpickup.com gallery.

  • Share Original: Enable this check box to share the original file without any compression at all. If you are sharing videos we would highly recommend leaving this unchecked.

[STEP #2] SHARING

This is where you select the sharing options you would like to be available on the PicPic Social iPad application. Select the option that best suits your client’s sharing needs.

  • Facebook Settings: Allows your guests to post their event files to their personal Facebook page. Guests will be prompted to login but will be automatically signed out once sharing is completed. Important Note - This will only post a link to their file and not the actual file. Posting actual files goes against Facebook’s terms of service. This feature requires an internet connection.

  • Instagram Settings: Allows your event guests to post their event files to Instagram. All files whether files or videos will be posted as MP4s to a guest Instagram page. Important Note - Instagram as a sharing option is perpetually in "Beta Mode." We cannot guarantee it's functionality and this feature may stop working at any time. This feature requires an internet connection.

  • Twitter Settings: Allow your guests to post event files to their personal Twitter wall. Guests will be prompted to login but will be automatically signed out once sharing is completed. Important Note - This feature requires an internet connection.

  • Email Settings: Allows guests to email their event files to themselves via email.

  • Text Message Settings: Allow your guests to share their event file through text message. Text messaging requires a Twilio account.

  • Printing: Allow your guests to choose to print their image right from the iPad sharing station.

[STEP #3] CUSTOMIZATION

On the Customization step you can modify the look of the PicPic Social iPad sharing station application.

You can change the event title and the background images that display on the iPad. You can also upload an overlay that can be applied to your images and videos.

To find out more information about customizing the iPad sharing station application and applying and overlay, check out the guides below...

[STEP #4] ADVANCE

In the Advance section is where you can enable quite a few cool features of the likes of...

  • ANIMATION FACTORY: This allows you to turn a series of individual JPEGs or PNGs into a GIF that can be shared on the iPad sharing application.

  • DISCLAIMERS: This allows you to include a brief disclaimer that a user must agree to on the iPad sharing application.

  • HASHTAG PRINTING: This allows you to download images from Instagram & Twitter to the iPad sharing application as soon as a guest posts them using a specified hashtag.

  • PHOTOSHOP AUTOMATION: This allows you to set up Adobe Photoshop actions with PicPic Social so your photos will automatically be edited as they enter the watch folder.

  • SURVEYS: Enable a Survey that will display before a guest is allowed to share their files on the iPad sharing application.

The most popular and powerful feature in our Advance section by far is the Microsites / Unique URL option.Microsites are mini websites that will host your photos, videos, or gifs. They are a great way to provide additional branding and marketing opportunities for you or your clients. Whether you enabled them or not, we highly recommend checking out the guide below…

Once your settings are complete press the blue checkmark to create/save your new sharing station event like in the clip below…
