Adding a watermark/overlay feature is a fantastic way to boost the visibility and recognition of your images when they're shared on your social media platforms.

Your logo will be visible on all photos shared via email or text and then on social media so everyone online will know it's your fantastic work!

Check out this example...

Create a Watermark/Overlay for PicPic Social

You can create the watermark/overlay using existing image editing software supporting layers.

For the sake of this tutorial, we will be using Photoshop, our online template editor software, Paddee. However, Adobe Photoshop software can also create transparent PNG templates that work with PicPic Social. Regardless of what programs you use, the same rules will apply.

Before beginning, we need to determine the size of the overlay image. The size of your overlay image will be the EXACT SIZE of the pictures you want to apply the overlay to.

For example, if your photo booth software exports images at 1240×720, your overlay image size must also be 1240×720.

If you do not already know how to find your image dimensions, we will show you how to do so. Locate an image your program has already saved as a final image. Once you see the images, right-click on the file and click "properties."

On the new Properties window, click the Details tab. From there, please scroll down to see the dimensions we need the watermark to be.

Create a new document in your editor with the dimensions of your image file. In this tutorial's example, it will be 3000×2000.

Place the text or images you want to use on this new document as an overlay. Your text/logo will appear in the same spot on every image as long as they are the same size. Typically, when taking photos, you won't change the file sizes during this time.

With your logos and text in the location you want it, hide the "Background" layer and make sure to save your new overlay image as a Transparent PNG file.

Upload Your Watermark/Overlay To PicPic Social

  1. Access the Event Dashboard:

    • Log in to the Event Dashboard and choose to create a new event or edit an existing one.

  2. Enable the Watermarking Add-On:

    • Please enable the Watermarking via the Add-On step and enable the Add-On status.

  3. Upload your Watermark:

    • Landscape Photos: Click on the upload area under 'LANDSCAPE' and select your landscape transparent PNG watermark file from your computer.

    • Portrait Photos: Click on the upload area under 'PORTRAIT' and select your transparent PNG portrait watermark file.

Just so you know, you can only apply a watermark to JPEG and PNG image files and MP4, GIF, and MOV files that enter your watch folder.

After uploading the Transparent PNG file you want to apply to all images/videos in the watch folder, press Update Event to save your settings.
